Have you ever sat down and thoughtfully written out your bucket list: things you absolutely have to do during your lifetime? Well, how about a travel bucket list? Where are all the places you would like to visit? Those places that hold so much importance to you, you’ll save up for years to get the chance to visit them just once. If money was no object, where would you go? Here’s a list of the places I can only dream of right now, but I look forward to visiting one day:
- Turks and Caicos
I was born in the Turks and Caicos Islands, but my parents and I moved to the U.S. right before my 2nd birthday. I’ve never been back. That would have to be the 1st stop on my “bucket list tour.” Fully experiencing my birthplace; basking in the Caribbean sun, bathing in the clear blue waters, and taking it easy island style.
- Africa. Yes, the whole dayum continent!
Once upon a time there was a little girl who came from nothing. Growing up, she didn’t have much of anything; not the nicest toys, nor the fanciest clothes. All she ever had were her dreams. She dreamed of one day traveling the world and experiencing it’s beauty first hand. She dreamed of the City of Love… My childhood dreams just have to come true! Paris is known for the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Champs-Elysée, great food, and storybook love and romance. Put me on the next flight please!
- Dead Sea/Holy Land
- Grand Canyon and the American Southwest
- Maldives, because it sounds like pure opulence…
- Great Barrier Reef, before it’s too late…
- Great Wall of China
- Ancient Mayan Ruins
The next two places I’ve visited before, but I didn’t get to fully experience their magnificence the way I would want to. Two totally different destinations, both full of charm:
11. Alaska, see Northern Lights
My parents’ homeland. I have only been there once. I visited the capital city, Port-au-Prince, but I was only there for a few days. I would love to go back to this place that is so rich in history and birthed the strong and resilient people I know and love.
Well, I have to stop here. Otherwise, this list will go on and on forever. Most people have a bucket list with the top 3 places they have to visit during their lifetime. I have a top 50 at least! This is just a glimpse of my work in progress of possible dream destinations. I’ll be sure to keep you posted when the desires of my heart lead me in a different direction and I decide to add to my travel bucket list. As always, happy travels!
